Says allocation to the State are better
Hyderabad, February 26, 2008The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy has welcomed the proposals made in the Railway Budget for some of the ongoing projects in the State. He said that it will go a long way in improving the transport facilities in the State. The Chief Minister said that the efforts would be expedited with allocation of funds this year particularly to the ongoing projects like Nandyala-Yerraguntla and Jaggaiahpeta-Vishnupuram lines. He said that the gauze conversation in the Dharmavaram - Pakala would be completed this year for which Rs.87 crore was proposed.
This year's Railway Budget was better than last year's in terms of funds allocation to the State said the Chief Minister. He expressed his happiness that the Secunderabad station would be developed into a world-class station with private-public partnership.
He also welcomed the introduction of new express trains like Garib Rath between Secunderabad -Visakhapatnam, and Masulipatnam and Bangalore and the the proposal to lay a third lane in the Vizianagaram-Kottavalasa section. He complimented the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for announcing free travel for girl students and the measures to provide modern facilities like lifts and escalators at stations.
