MLA is believed to have submitted fake medical bills
Hyderabad, February 25, 2008A Division Bench of the AP High Court comprising of Chief Justice Anil Ramesh Dave and Justice Nooty Rammohana Rao today disposed of a writ petition filed against sitting MLA E Raja Ramachander wherein it was complained that the MLA had misused his post and had benefited illegally.
It may be noted that the MLA had produced fake hospital bills for reimbursement contenting that he and his wife had underwent heart surgery. Basing on an earlier direction of the AP High court, a case was registered against the MLA and Nampally criminal courts is trying the MLA.
The court disposed of the writ petition directing the Nampally criminal court to finish the case within three months. Meanwhile, Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy disposed of a writ petition filed by Shivalingam of Chittoor and directed the Medical and Health Committee to reconsider the case. In this case, it may be recalled that he had opted to undergo Kidney transplantation and that a person named Chaitanya wanted to donate his Kidney for which his wife objected and filed an objection before the Committee and the Committee had rejected the application of Shivalingam. After hearing the parties, Justice Reddy directed the committee to reconsider the case and to pass orders immediately.
