All private hospitals in the state to come under APAPMCE Rules
Hyderabad, February 20, 2008
In what is considered as a step towards making private hospitals to be more transparent, all private medical hospitals in the state of Andhra Pradesh should now get registered with the District Registering Authority (DRA). The DRA will be headed by DM&HO and its members will be picked from the Indian Medical Association and the AP Nursing Homes Association in the districts. A two-month time period is given to the hospitals to go for the mandatory registration process.
Private Hospitals in the state would not have to follow few steps to ensure they comply with the DRA. This includes availability and maintenance of hospital infrastructure and staff including nurses and doctors, ensuring at least 3 doctors are available for a 10 to 20 bedded nursing home or clinic, displaying list of charges of all hospital services etc.
