Minister Raghuveera Reddy makes announcement in Assembly

The Minister for Agriculture, N Raghuveera Reddy today informed the Assembly that the Centre had agreed to bear the subsidy on the complex fertilizers and the prices of fertilizers would be decreased from the next agricultural season. He was responding to a question raised by E Dayakar Rao of TDP and others.
He said that the State Government would sanction Rs.500 crore to MARKFED to procure fertilizers. The Ministers said that the State was all set to get 186 metric tones food grain production in the next year. He said that this was a record in the past 60 years.
The Minister for Rural Development G Chinna Reddy said that the State Government would implement ‘Aam Admi Bhima Yojana’, an insurance scheme for the land less agriculture laborers. He was responding to B Vedavyas of Congress and others, he said that of the Rs.200 insurance premium the State Government and Centre would bear equal amounts.
