New move to spare public the trouble of waiting in queue for hours

The Registration and Stamps Department on Friday introduced ‘Registration by Prior Appointment’ scheme at select Sub-Registrar offices in pilot basis. Instead of waiting for hours in long queues, with this scheme, the general public can take appointments for either registration or submission of documents for registration.
According to the new scheme, only for property registration has been introduced in 37 Sub-Registration offices including Hyderabad in the State would enable the public to access officials at pre-appointed time. For appointments, public can either visit the website www.igrs.ap.gov.in or call 040-27670449. Under the scheme, each appointment would be for 15-minute duration and can be made one month to two days ahead of the appointed day.
The Inspector General for Stamps and Registration Department SK Sinha said that the Sub-Registrar offices would be entertaining such appointments between 11am to 1.30pm while from 2pm onwards normal services. On each working day, there would be 10 to 12 appointments. The website would clearly show which date is available for appointment. Even on phone, the caller will be informed the available date of appointment. He further said that while taking appointment, either through Internet or phone, the caller would be given an appointment number which has to be produced during the appointment, when the appointee meet the official.
