Swapnika, the victim in the acid attack battling for life in Yashoda Hospital on Friday displayed rare courage and spirit to fight back and demanded stern action on the culprits in the drastic acid attack. Her grief sicken parents and relatives directed their ire at the State for its failure to provide protection to women and girl students.

Even after 48 hours after the acid attack that left her grievously burnt, the girl's continuous refrain in a voice that was surprisingly clear and strong and demanded justice. She said in a chocked voice that the government is to hang him so that no one could dare to perpetrate such acts. The doctors Srinagesh and Surendra said that her condition was very critical and her chances of survival were slim as she suffered fifty percent of burns.

The State Government has ordered an inquiry by Inspector General to find out if the local police of Warangal committed lapses in the acid attack. Home Minister, K Jana Reddy said severe action would be taken against policemen if they were found guilty. He said that the police arrested the prime suspect Srinivas and are investigating the case. Jana Reddy said that the government would bear the entire expenditure of the treatment of the two girls.
