Hyderabad, August 16, 2008

The Struggle Committee of the Central and State Government public sector employees, teachers and workers has extended its support to the one day nationwide strike called by All India State Government Employees Federation and other employees federations on August 20. The strike has been called in protest against the Central Government's policy of privatization.

Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, the chairman of the Struggle Committee and president of APNGO V Gopal Reddy said that the over six crore employees across the nation are participating in the proposed strike. The Central Government is encouraging privatization and outsourcing systems in the guise of reforms.

On the day of strike, the struggle committee will take out a rally from Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram to LB Stadium in Hyderabad that will culminate in a public meeting.
