Hyderabad brothers served show cause notices

PCC President serves notices on directions from Digvijay Singh

Hyderabad, September 8, 2007

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao on Saturday reportedly issued show cause notices served to city MLAs P Janardhana Reddy and M Sashidhar Reddy for their relentless criticism on the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Sources say that the notice is being served on directions from the AICC General Secretary and Party State affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh.

The notices were served on both the MLAs asking them why action should not be taken against them. However, at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC President K Keshava Rao remained tight lipped to comment on the notices. He reportedly expressed his apprehensions to the AICC General Secretary over the possible fall out of the move as Janardhana Reddy and Sashidhar Reddy.

It is understood that Digvijay Singh was very firm on the issue. He felt such an action from the party will send a clear signal to all those who are frequently raising voices against the party leadership. However, these two MLAs refused to comment on the show cause notices served on them. They maintained that they have not received the notices and will react only after receipt of the notices.
