AP High Court stays demolitions at Ramoji Film city

The AP High Court judge while admitting a writ petition filed by the Managing Director of Ushodaya Publications challenging the action of Tahsildar of Hayatnagar mandal in passing orders under the provisions of AP Assigned lands Act, 1977, who ordered and demolished sheds and other structures in two places in the sprawling campus on the ground they were built on assigned lands by the revenue officials in the Ramoji Film City, the judge stayed all further action by the revenue authorities.

Justice V Eswaraiah of the High Court ordered a stay in an area of over four acres at Anajpur village, Hayatnagar mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

After hearing the arguments of the both the parties, Justice Eswaraiah said that the authorities could not have acted like this. He granted stay and permitted filing of counter affidavit.
