One day international cricket match between India and Australia to be held

The Hyderabad Cricket Association has said that the State Government will provide tight security for the one day International Cricket match between India and Australia to be played at Uppal Stadium on October 5, 2007. The assurance has come in the wake of twin blasts in the city last month. It may be recalled that the World Badminton Federation had earlier canceled the Indian Open which was scheduled to commence on September 6, 2007.
Speaking to media, the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) G Vinod said on Tuesday, he said that a meeting with the Chief Minister, Home Minister and senior police officials was held and that assurances are given for tight security for the match.
Meanwhile, N Shivlal Yadav, Secretary said that Australia's willingness to play in the city had not changed. Alan Hurst, the ICC observer is coming in the next week to visit the stadium, he said. The HCA is pressing a Test status in Hyderabad and he expressed confidence of gaining the Test status.
