GO 610 to be completed by month end - says minister

1949 Non-local teachers identified; Eligible to be repatriated

Hyderabad, September 3, 2007

The Minister for Higher Education D Srinivas said on Monday that implementation of GO 610 would be completed by the end of this month. Speaking to media after a meeting that the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy held a review with the group of ministers set up to oversee the implementation, he said the School Education Department had identified 1949 non local teachers recruited during 2000-2004. The process of identifying non local teachers recruited during 1994-1999 has commenced.

Recruitment in violation of GO 610 appears to be more serious in the School Education Department. Once the identification is over, the non-local teachers will be repatriated to go to their native districts, he said.

The Minister reiterated that the Government would try to implement the GO within the framework of the Presidential Order. He added that if anyone has grievances, they can write to the GoM which will address them.
