Party coordinator Jaya Prakash Narayan announces at a conference
Hyderabad, September 28, 2007At a press conference, the Lok Satta Party National Coordinator Jaya Prakash Narayan said that the party will contest in all Assembly and Lok Sabha seats if the elections are held as per schedule or in case of the polls get advanced. He said that it will take stock of the situation and decide on how many seats it can contest. He further said that his party was willing to work with any organization or party which stood for values in political life and was ranged against corruption.
However, he neither confirmed nor denied reports that his part might invite cine actor Chiranjeevi to work with Lok Satta. He commented that everyone including Chiranjeevi who has the same agenda as they have is welcome. He came down heavily on conventional political parties like TDP, Congress and TRS for their competitive populism in luring votes. He said that it was high time these parties had made an honest analysis of the reasons for the backwardness of the State and the poor living standards of people and came up with schemes that would benefit them.
Jaya Prakash Narayan said that Lok Satta stood for seven to nine hours stable power supply to farm sectors and round the clock power supply to domestic needs and supply of rice to the poorest of the poor free or at an affordable price after weeding out bogus ration cards. Corruption plays an important role right from lower cadre to the top level both in bureaucratics and political leaders and unless it is eradicated, the so called announced schemes can not be materialized, he said.
