APPSC to fill up 4,961 posts while rest will be by respective departments

The State Government had on Monday announced that it issued orders for filling up of 7,994 vacant posts that will burden the State exchequer by Rs.100 crore every year. Speaking to media, the Finance Minister, K Rosaiah said that the decision was taken after reviewing the vacancy positions and also keeping in view of the actual requirement with reference to the nature of work and overall financial implications on the Stat exchequer.
Out of the 7,994 posts, 4,961 posts would be filled by the APPSC while the rest would be filled by the respective departments. He said efforts are on to fill up 28,886 posts. But during 1999 and 2004 March, only 4,712 were filled up. He added that if the DSC 2006 case is cleared by the Supreme Court, another 20,193 posts would be filled up.
Rosaiah said that the Government has taken all necessary steps to provide employment in private sector. In IT and ITES sector, many jobs were provided. He said that in Visakhapatnam, jobs to illiterate women were being created in the proposed textile park being developed by Sri Lanka based Brandix. Like wise, 30,000 jobs to illiterates in Apache shoe company coming up in Nellore.
