Delegates from 45 countries will participate in the five day congress
Hyderabad, September 21, 2007The 58th International Astronautical Congress (IAC-2007) would be held from September 24 to 29 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Astronautical Society of India,the conference would be organized by the International Astronautical Federation, International Academy of Astronautics and the International Institute of Space Law.
At a press conference on Friday, the Director and Organizing Committee Chairman BN Suresh said that the event would focus on the developments, business prospects, technology transfer, licensing and other matters related to space technology. Delegates from 45 countries would participate in the five day conference.
It coincides with the golden jubilee year of the launch of the first artificial satellite of the earth, the Russian Sputnik I. The event would be a platform to discuss robotic and human space exploration activities. The former President of India, ABJ Abdul Kalam would interact with select students of 35 colleges, Sunitha Williams would deliver a lecture on the technical aspects of her journey into outer space on September 28, the last day of convention. International Astronautical Federation president James Zimmerman, its executive director Philp Willekem, National Remote Sensing Agency director K Radhakrishan and others will participate in the convention.
