Hyderabad, September 21, 2007

With the Finance Department giving its clearance to the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Friday to begin the process of filling 8,000 Group I and II posts in the State, the news reached to unemployed educated youth of the state as a matter of happiness and joy. The process is already on for filling 2,000 posts. With the clearance in hand, the number of vacant posts to be filled have gone to 10,000.

All these vacancies will be filled in as many as 20 Government Departments including some of the key departments such as the Revenue, Irrigation and Commercial taxes. A decision to fill up the vacancies was taken at a high level meeting by the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy few weeks ago.

A notification on filling up vacancies will be issued shortly according to reliable sources. In all probability the upper age limit will be fixed at 37 as against the 33 years. Sources said that some officers flavored 38 as the upper age limit as during the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government, the upper age limit was reduced to 33 from 34.
