District Administration sets relief campus
Kurnool, September 19, 2007
Witnessing heavy inflow of water from the Thungabhadra river, almost all parts of the Kurnool district are stuck in the flood waters. Schools are given holiday while people continued to struggle in their houses when waters in some places came to knee-levels.
The District Administration has set up 13 relief campus apart from transferring people living in low-lying areas to safer regions. The Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao has given necessary instructions to ensure timely relief is provided to the needy. Authorities say that with the decrease in inflow, water levels would slowly come down in the next few hours.
