Gives clean chit to Venkat
Hyderabad, September 18, 2007The AP Forensic Sciences Laboratory (APFSL), giving clear indications that the recent shoot out that led to the death of realtor, Prashanth Reddy was an obvious case of suicide and not homicide, has submitted the 'Gun Shot Residue' (GSR) report to the High Court.
According to the report, the APFSL stated that only one round was fired from Venkat's revolver. The GSR says that the revolver was held in the hands of Prashanth Reddy and not of Venkat giving a clear indication that the act is a case of suicide. The GSR analysis is nothing but a study of the residue deposited on the palm and fingers of the person who opens fire from a firearm. The Jubilee Hills police registered a murder case against Venkat after Prashanth Reddy's father suspected a foul play. Stung by the criticism that the police could act with a bias considering that Venkat's father Keshava Rao is the then President of the ruling Congress Party, the Government had ordered probe by the CID. CID sleuth will now probe the entire incident from the suicide angle.
An official said that the X Ray report of Prashanth Reddy's brain also supported the suicide theory as it showed the internal bullet path to be pointing upwards. In other words, only when a man fires at himself the bullet travels upwards, he said. The officials of CID which is probing the case appears to be going about their business as usual. They visited the residence of K Venkat, the son of K Keshava Rao, former PCC president, the main accused to reconstruct the scene for the second time and tried to obtain as much information as possible from the remake. Meanwhile, Venkat became errant with the huge presence of media and even tried to attack a press member.
