Rail Rokho staged; Leaders arrested and later released
Hyderabad, September 11, 2007
The State Unit of Bharateeya Janatha Party (BJP) protest against Sethusamudram project. The party supporters staged rail rokho hindering rail traffic. Bandaru Dattatreya, senior party leaders and supporters are arrested and later released on bail.
Speaking with the media, BJP leader Indrasena Reddy said that the decision on Government to built the project by downing the bridge will hit the sentiments of the people. He said that this will dilute our country's control on international waters as well as weaken our shield for tsunami or other natural disasters.
