Official was under suspension in another case
Hyderabad, September 11, 2007The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 75 lakhs belonging to B Muttaiah, Assistant Social Welfare Officer at Ibrahimpatnam who is under suspension in another case.
The officials conducted simultaneous searches at the houses of the accused officer and his friend at Vanasthalipuram revealed that he owned a double storeyed building, two flats and 23 plots. He also possessing foreign currency worth Rs.8 lakhs, fixed deposits worth Rs.3 lakh, 20 tolas of gold and Rs.57,000 cash along with promissory notes worth Rs.2.85 lakhs and costly household items. Apart from these, a bank locker is yet to be opened.
The official in question was an accused in a cheating case and the investigation of which is being done by the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
