Division bench terms GO contrary to earlier issued orders

A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Chief Justice GS Singhvi and Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy on Monday set aside the GO Ms No. 522 pertaining houses to MPs, MLAs, All India Service Officers, Judges and working journalists on the city outskirts. The bench termed the GO is illegal stating that it was contrary to the orders issued earlier banning allotment of house sites to individuals within the ORR Project.

The Bench dealing with a writ petition filed by VS Bose and two others complained that the GO allotting the land for house sites issued on May 4, 2006 was in violation of the State Government's order baning allotment of lands for house sites.
