Lok Satta submits memorandum on belts shops existence to CM

Says unauthorized liquor flowing in rural areas

Hyderabad, October 5, 2007

The Lok Satta Party on Friday claimed that the Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy had conceded the existence of unauthorized liquor outlets in rural areas but felt local women would have get them shut by seeking the cooperation of Police Department and Excise Department.

According to a press release, the Chief Minister was speaking to a delegation of Mahila Satta and Lok Satta that submitted a memorandum seeking closure of belt shops. It quoted that the Chief Minister as saying that he would not deny the existence of such shops.
