Thousands participates TDP Roadshow in Anatapur
Anantapur, October 4, 2007Leader of the opposition and President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Nara Chandrababu Naidu demanded the Government to waive off farmer loans in commercial banks. He said that as many as 4300 farmers committed suicide unable to repay the loans they have taken for farming. He said that the Government has to waive off all co-operative loans including those taken from commercial banks. Naidu addressed the public as a part of the TDP roadshow in Anantapur district which got good response from the people.
Addressing the public, he said that the scheme to provide rice at Rs. 2 a kg is a scheme actually conceived by the TDP during NT Rama Rao rule and that the present Government is trying to take credit from it. He asked the Congress-led Government to clarify as to how much rice it would be providing under the scheme.
Naidu reminded the people that his TDP Government when in power has spent huge money towards technology and that people are now able to get its fruit. He said that the TDP will continue to strive to ensure that the benefits of the technology reaches the farmer community.
