Orders inquiry into orders issued a couple of months back
Hyderabad, October 30, 2007
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy expressed displeasure over bureaucratic delays and has ordered an inquiry into how an order issued two months ago to enhance the compensation by 200 percent for acquisition of lands for Indiramma Housing programme did not reach the District Collectors so far. He felt the delay as a serious lapse and said that he is not aware of the same till the Minister for Housing has informed him on Tuesday.
While addressing the two-day conference of the District Collectors at Jubilee Hills on Tuesday, the Chief Minister is seen visibly upset and said that the housing programme has suffered in urban areas where land acquisition is a problem. While complimenting the Collectors for their efforts in the housing programme, he, however said the completion of only 59 percent of the 25 lakh houses taken up under Indiramma-I was unacceptable. He asked them to completed at least by 80 percent by March next.
Soon after the opening address, the Chief Minister is understood to have hauled up officials of the Animal Husbandry Department for their failure to release required funds to districts for purchase of hybrid varieties of cattle under Pasu Kranti scheme. He expressed unhappiness that a large number of eligible persons were yet to receive white ration cards and directed them to ensure that all those eligible were given cards before this year end.
