State Government decision to allot 245 acres for house sites questioned
Hyderabad, October 3, 2007A Division bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Chief Justice GS Singhvi and Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on a writ petition questioning the State Government's decision to allot 245 acres of land for house sites to the AP High Court judges, MPs, MLAs, All India Services officers, Working Journalists and others on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The bench posted the petition for hearing on Thursday.
The petitioners VS Bose and two others had complained that GO Ms No.522 issued on May 4, 2006 allotting the land for house sites was in violation of the State Government's earlier orders banning the allotment of lands for house sites.
The earlier GO has imposed a ban on allotment of house sites to organizations other than purpose institutions. It also envisaged that the land located within the limits of Outer Ring Road project should not be allotted for houses, said the counsel.
