Hyderabad, October 26, 2007It may be recalled that 11 tribal women were allegedly raped by cops in the recent past. Taking a serious note on the delay in investigation, the High Court ordered the CID SP to complete the investigation within one week. At the same time, the court also directed on Friday to the Chodavaram Magistrate to record the statements of the victims before Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Tribal Welfare Secretary, Nagireddy has submitted the report to the Government. On the incident, CID SP Sivananda Reddy's interim report, was submitted to the High Court through Advocate General CV Mohan Reddy.
Taking into consideration of the seriousness of the case, the High Court has directed not to leave the accused in the case under any circumstances. It also directed to take into the consideration of the statement given by a boy who said that Khaki clad person who entered in the house of a victim. The advocate, B Ramachandra Rao on behalf of the petitioners brought to the notice of the High Court that even though the incident took place 65 days ago and pointed out that the police failed to arrest the accused. The Advocate General sought four weeks time to submit the report, but the Court turned down the appeal and directed him to submit within one week and posted the case to November 2.
