Large number of women join padayatra

Guntur, October 24, 2007

The Lok Satta National Coordinator, Jayaprakash Narayan's padayatra entered into second day on Wednesday. The yatra drew good attention of the people as is evident from a large number of women taking part in the padayatra raising slogans against belt shops.

Jayaprakash Narayan who made a night halt at Kondabalavaripalem village of Kakumanu mandal proceeded to Kollimarla, Mannava, Manchala, Doppalapudi and Pachalatadiparru villages on Thursday. As the leader entered villages, the belt shop owners downed their shutters as a precautionary measures.

Speaking to media, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan said that the Lok Satta Party aims to provide corruption free and liquor free society if comes to power. He expressed concern over the poor basic amenities in villages and promised to provide medical and educational facilities to all if the party was comes to power.
