Seven hospitalized in serious condition

On the eve of Dasara celebrations, a pall of gloom descended on the SC Colony in Gowrajupalli village of Roddam mandal in the district consumed spurious toddy on Friday. Out of ten, three persons died in the hospital, while the rest of seven was in serious condition.
Sources close to Excise department officials said that ten persons had taken ill seriously in the shop belonging to one Obulesu. Three persons were died while on treatment in the hospital in the wee hours of Saturday.
It is being suspected that the toddy could have become poisonous after mixing of some pesticides. There was a serious business rivalry between Obulesu and his brother Anjaneyulu and the both have toddy shops in the village.
