Three passengers killed and over forty injured
East Godavari, October 20, 2007On Friday night, an APSRTC bus over turned into a roadside 200 feet deep ditch near Tetagunta village on NH 5 between Tuni and Annavaram. In the accident, three passengers died while forty passengers injured. According to sources, the accident occurred as the driver lost control of the bus. The ill fated bus was proceeding towards Rajahmundry from Visakhapatnam.
Two of the deceased were identified as K Pentayamma of Daramallapuram village of Sankhavaram mandal, TN Swamy of Sankhavaram mandal and the third victim is yet to be identified.
The Inspector of Police of Tuni, NVS Murty and APRTC Regional Manager S Ravindra Babu from Rajahmundry rushed to the spot and they shifted the injured to Tuni and Kattipudi Government hospitals for medical treatment.
