Police seized Rs. 16.32 lakhs

Hyderabad, October 2, 2007

The Proddatur rural police on Tuesday arrested a cricket bookie, E Narasimhulu in a raid on his house in Khaderabad in Proddatur mandal and seized Rs.16.32 lakhs from him. According to police sources, he was a member of cricket betting gang of Khaderabad village in Proddatur mandal.

The other members of the gang would be apprehended shortly said the Additional SP ASC Wesley. The gang members collected money from persons in Proddatur and nearby areas who indulged in betting with bookies who operated on cell phones from Hyderabad during the cricket matches.
