Committee of senior police officer clears proposal for reinstatement

A high power committee of senior police officers has cleared the proposal for reinstatement of JG Murali. According to reliable sources, the committee took into consideration of the security threat from Maoists to him for his involvement in several anti extremist operations in the State. It may be recalled that the former Superintendent of Police, JG Murali who was trapped by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) some six months ago.
The IPS officer had submitted a petition to the Chief Secretary, J Harinaryan seeking his reinstatement in view of high threat from Maoists and the delay on the part of the ACB to file the preliminary inquiry report and the charge sheet supporting its allegations. The petition was referred to the high power committee, which had recommended for his reinstatement and posting to a non focal post, in view of grave security risk.
