The Endowments Commissioner, P Sundara Kumar presented Pattu Vastram to Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri on behalf of the State Government on the sixth day of Dasara celebrations on Wednesday. Originally, it is scheduled that the Endowments Minister, J Ratnakara Rao to do this honours but failed due to personal reasons.
Thousands of devotees trekked the hill on the 'Moola Nakshatram day considered to the birthday of Goddess. The Endowments Commissioner accompanied by his wife had a darshan of the Goddess who was adorned as 'Saraswathi Devi' in the afternoon. The couple was given blessing by the temple priests and sehavastram was presented to them. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements for the festival.
