Hyderabad, October 16, 2007

At a high level review meeting, the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday directed the irrigation department officials to complete all the administrative formalities for the modernization of Pennar delta and commence works on the project by March next year. He also directed the officials that the Telugu Ganga project to be completed by December next.

The Major Irrigation Minister, Ponnala Lalkshmaiah speaking to media said that the Government is taking all steps to fill Kandaleru reservoir with 40 tmcft water. He said 3.6 tmcft water has already been released to Chennai city and water will be released from Kandaleru in December.
