Launches Yeruwaka program in East Godavari
Rajahmundry - East Godavari, October 15, 2007The President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N Chandrababu Naidu has sought Rs.1,000 a quintal as minimum support price (MSP) for paddy on par with wheat. He charged the State Government for failing to get the MSP for farmers and asked farming community to revolt against the State Government.
Launching the 'Yeruvaka' programme in East Godavari on Monday, he conducted road shows for nearly 110 km up to Ramachandrapuram. Addressing a press conference at Madhurapudi airport and roadside meetings, he said that while there was an increase of Rs.250 in the support price for wheat, it was not the case with paddy.
Naidu attributed the disparity in minimum support price to indiscrimination by the Centre and lukewarm response of the State Government
