Crackers exposition in a two storeyed building

In a ghastly incident on Friday evening, crackers stored in a two storeyed building on the Main Road near Devi Chowk for the coming Deepavali exploded leaving one person dead and six injured. The injured were rushed to the Government Headquarters Hospital where the condition of two persons is reportedly to be serious.
According to Fire Officer DDRK Raju and City Police Inspector Trinadha Rao, the crackers burst in the second floor in the evening. Eye witness said that they suddenly heard a big explosion and mistook it to be a bomb aimed at Devi Chowk while others suspected to be a cylinder blast.
Preliminary reports say that Ch Venkataratnam and his wife runs the Vasavi Kirana Stores with the help of their sons. Although the family manufactures crackers on a small scale every year, they used to store many more buying from other States during the Deepavali season. Police and Fire personnel started rescue operations immediately after hearing the news. Five houses in the vicinity were damaged due the the impact of the explosion according to the Police officials.
