Says YSR contention that he is from wealthy family disputed
Hyderabad, October 10, 2007
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday said that it stood by the corruption charges made by the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu against the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy and was prepared to prove them before any commission of inquiry.
At a press conference, the party spokesman T Seetharam claimed that the party had marshalled all the evidence required to prove the charges before a judicial inquiry headed by a sitting High Court judge, Assembly Speaker or an all party committee.
He disputed the Chief Minister's contention that he was born into a wealthy family and reminded him that his father too had a humble beginning as a mason. It was only after he had resorted to faction politics and illegal mining that YSR family started making money. He further said that it was confirmed by a commission of inquiry headed by an IAS officer, Natarajan.
