Mahila Congress workers confront Nannapaneni Rajakumari

Scrapping women honchos enact sordid drama on TV

Hyderabad, October 10, 2007

A member of the House of Elders and chief of Mahila Congress Ganga Bhavani used unreadable abuse against the Telugu Desam spokesperson and former Telugu Mahila chief Nannapaneni Rajakumari in the latter's house. The shocking scrap, replete with vulgar language, vile abuse and threatening gestures was seized upon by the TV Channels which replayed the footage all through the day.

The sordid drama began when, piqued over fiery TDP spokesperson Rajakumari's vituperations against the Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy at a press meet on Tuesday, Mahila Congress chief Ganga Bhavani led a mob of woman activists right into her apartment and hurled choicest invectives at her on Tuesday. The women activists burnt the effigy of Nannapaneni Rajakumari in front of the Legislative Assembly before proceeding to her house. They gatecrashed into the complex and made for her fifth floor apartment.

A furious Ganga Bhavani said that the Congress activists would not tolerate any attempt to defame their leader while, Rajakumari vowed to continue dishing out the dirt on the Chief Minister. She sought gunmen as her life is under threat from the Chief Minister or his relatives. At a press conference, TDP leader T Seetaram levelled personal allegations against the Chief Minister and said his party was ready for a debate on the personal assets of the Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. Rajakumari lodged a complaint with the Humayunagar police against Ganga Bhavani and others. The police registered criminal cases against them and arrested Ganga Bhavani and others which were released.
