BSNL CGM announces new plans to expand customer base
Hyderabad, October 1, 2007The Chief General Manger of Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), S Ramalingam speaking to reporters on Monday said that the much awaited 3-in-facility viz., Internet Protocol Television of BSNL is all set to be launched in the State in November 2007. IPTV enables consumers to watch television, surf Internet and use telephone through their existing telephone line. Recording facility is also available, he said.
BSNL is planning to give one lakh connections through IPTV in the city by March 2008 at a nominal rate of Rs. 200 per month. All the 12,000 broadband connections in the city will be cleared within a month. BSNL is planning to provide 1.3 lakh new connections by March next.
Commemorating the completion of seven years of its formation, BSNL has announced to offer free SIM for those recharging for Rs. 300 for 45 days. This recharge comes with a three month validity.
