Vacant teacher posts to be filled soon

Another 56,000 posts to be filled by next year end

Hyderabad, November 8, 2007

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday announced that nearly 15,000 teachers would be recruited within a couple of months. He said that 6,000 posts will be filled up by the end of this month. Another notification for DSC would be issued for recruitment of 20,000 teachers by the end of this year and nearly 56,000 posts will be filled by the end of the next year.

He said that the government was committed to fill vacant teacher posts, the DSC 2006 was delayed due to legal hurdles, he said at a review meeting on the Rajiv Vidya Mission held at his camp office. School Education principal secretary CBS Venkata Ramana and other top officials were present.

He said that the basic amenities were insufficient in 10,000 schools in the State and additional buildings for class rooms, furniture and other facilities would be provided in these schools through the Rajiv Vidya Mission. He added training would be given to the teachers every year to upgrade their skills. He dismissed the fears that the government was planning to close government schools after opening Rural Residential Public Schools.
