Demands regularization of contract paramedical employees

The district president of the United Medical and Health Employees Union president S Lakshmana Rao said that the union has decided to lay siege to the Secretariat on November 12 demanding regularization of contract paramedical employees.
He charged that the health assistant, lab technicians and pharmacists who were appointed in 2001 were not being regularized and found fault with the government for backtracking on regularizing contract employees while regularizing the services of doctors, staff nurses and ANM cadres.
He demanded that regularization of male health assistants according to Supreme Court and High court orders. He flayed at the government's decision to appoint 340 lab technicians and 208 pharmacists through GO No.323.
