Says he is pained by the Government's decision to regularize Devineni Nehru's lands
Vijayawada, November 7, 2007
The Vijayawada East Congress MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna announced his resignation saying that he was pained over the Government's decision to regularize land pertaining to Devineni Rajasekhar at Banjara Hills. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday, he said that while the Government did not concede his repeated requests for distribution of house sites to the eligible poor, the land worth over 120 crores was regularized in the name of Kankipadu Legislator Devineni Nehru in violation of rules.
The Vijayawada East MLA was apparently referring to a report published in a Telugu daily alleging that the Chief Minister used extraordinary powers to hastily regularize a large extent of prime land at Banjara Hills against the stipulations under the land ceiling act.
