Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to inaugurate the festival
Hyderabad, November 7, 2007The International Children's Film Festival (ICFF) will be held at Hyderabad from November 14 to 20. Nearly 120 films from 36 countries will be screened as part of the 'Golden Elephant'. The festival is jointly organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Government and Central Government and are expecting 500 child delegates from all over the country.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, the Minister for Information and Public Relations, Tourism and Cinematography Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said the festival would be inaugurated on Children's Day by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy at Lalita Kala Thoranam. He said the festival was being organized at a cost of Rs.3 crore of which 1.5 crore would be spent by Children's Film Society (CFS), India and the rest by the State Government. Prasad's Multiplex is one of the theaters reserved for for screening films for delegates. Indira Priyadarshijni Auditorium at Public Gardens will be used only for screening films in Beta format while Srinivasa Theatre at Narayanaguda will be used to screen children's films in Telugu.
Three films will be screened at each Theatre every day during the festival period and cultural programmes would be staged before commencement of the screening of films at Lalita Kala Thoranam every evening from November 15 to 19. 'The Golden Elephant' has several interesting sections like International Competition, Asian Panorama, Children's World and Retrospectives/Special screenings.
