Uproar scenes over TDP leader remarks
Hyderabad, November 6, 2007
On the very first day of the Assembly winter session witnessed uproarious scenes when the Opposition Party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao passed certain comments on Chairman, A Chakrapani on Tuesday. The house was adjourned without transacting any business as the Opposition members led by TDP stalled the proceedings demanding a debate on MSP for paddy. The Chairman turned down the five adjournment notices given by TDP, TRS, CPI(M), CPI and MIM.
Despite the Chairman's appeal, the TDP and TRS member displayed placards and raised slogans demanding a debate on the MSP on paddy. Even the assurance given by the Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah has no impact to pacify them. At the Business Advisory Committee meeting, it was decided that the Council session would be extended till November 20 and the members agreed to take up debate on MSP, Irrigation and Indiramma programmes, education and health, power and welfare.
The Chairman hosted breakfast for the Ministers and other Council members. However, the Telugu Desam Party members boycotted the breakfast programme.
