Indifferences shows up right from Business Advisory Committee meeting this time
Hyderabad, November 5, 2007
The war of words between the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy and the Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu took an ugly turn on Monday with Chandrababu Naidu threatening to see the end of Rajasekhara Reddy and the latter advising his buddy turned foe to shut up.
The trouble started even before the customary Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting commenced where all the Opposition leaders assembled in the Speaker's chambers and when the Chief Minister entered the meeting hall, Chandrababu Naidu upped his ante against him. When the BAC got underway with the Left Parties wanting more working days, Chandrababu Naidu chipped in with a few suggestions and at this particular point of time, the Chief Minister is understood to have said with a tinge of sarcasm that he would do just as suggested by the Opposition parties.
The Opposition leader reportedly lost his control and slipped down to mutual insinuations. Both raked up some personal issues and Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have swore at the Chief Minister saying that he would see his end. Responding spontaneously, the Chief Minister too reportedly quipped him to shut up and the later used the same words back at Rajasekhara Reddy before leaving the meeting. Speaking to media, Chandrababu Naidu said that he had never faced such a humiliation. He said that the Chief Minister heckled him and added that he would be cowed down by such threats and will expose the lapses of the government. He commented that the day as black day in the history of Indian Democracy. He faulted the Speaker for not coming to his rescue and later staged a demonstration before Gandhi statue at the Assembly.
