Hyderabad, November 4, 2007

The TRS MLA N Narasimha Reddy and others leaders of Left parties discussed the digital meters issue with the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy in presence of the members of the Anti Auto Digital Meters Struggle Committee consisting of more than 10 auto drivers unions.

Sources say that the Chief Minister has asked the Transport Minister to fix an appointment for all party leaders and auto drivers unions to discuss the issue. Meanwhile, the Autorickshaw drivers who were off the roads for the past six days over the issue called off the strike.

In a statement, AITUC union leader B Venkatesham claimed that the strike was called off in view of the difficulties being faced by the public in general and especially school going children in particular.
