UNPA ready to roar in Vijayawada

Chandrababu Naidu vows to wipe out ryots’ tears

Hyderabad, November 23, 2007

The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) is all set to roar in Vijayawada on Saturday. Its massive Rytu Garjana rally is aimed at sending a clear signal to farmers that the TDP, a key constituent of the UNPA has transformed itself into a former friendly entity and it is here to wipe out the tears of peasants. This is the large scale farmers’ rally.

Top leaders of UNPA constituents such as Mulayam Singh Yadav, Om Prakash Chouthala, Farooq Abdulla and others will meet in Vijayawada on Saturday morning and chalk out future plans on how to solve agrarian crisis in the country. A huge rally of farmers will be taken out in the city followed by a farmers’ conclave at Kanuru.

Speaking to media on Friday, the TDP president and UNPA convener N Chandrababu Naidu said that he was committed to wiping out the tears of farmers by bailing them out of the debt trap. He said that he will not rest till the farmers get Rs.1,000 MSP per quintal for paddy. He demanded the Union Government implement MS Swami Nathan’s recommendations on farm related issues.
