Charged of raping and illegally confining a minor girl
Hyderabad, November 22, 2007The Narayanakhed Police on Thursday arrested a Government School Headmaster on the charges of raping and illegally confining a minor girl. According to the police sources, E Simon, Headmaster of Peerla Thanda Government School in Narayanakhed mandal, lured a 16-year teenage student of X standard with the promise of marrying her. The girl left her parents and began staying with him since November 19.
The parents of the girl, who came to know of the elopement, went to the house of Simon’s brother, where the girl was confined. However, he fled the place and when cornered later, he refused to marry her and offered Rs. 2 lakh to buy their silence.
The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police. Later, Kula Vivaksha Vyatireka Porata Samiti District General Secretary K Rajaiah took the issue to the notice of the Superintendent of Police, RB Naik and sought his assistance. On the directions of the SP, the police arrested the Headmaster and sent him to remand.
