Two masked miscreants gained entry into the Chaitanyapuri e-Seva centre in Saroonagar and decamped with Rs.3.40 lakhs at gun point late in the evening on Wednesday. The duo entered into the e-Seva centre and did their job barely few minutes before the staff are getting ready to close the day. One of the miscreants is wearing a helmet while the others is wearing a mask, according to sources.

The duo barged in throwing the staff comprising six women and two men into panic while one unarmed security at a gun point, the other went up strait to the accounts officer Narasimha Reddy and snatched Rs.3.20 lakhs in cash from him and then collected Rs.20,000 from three other counters.

The duo vanished after warning the employees to stay frozen for a while. Since the e-Seva functions on the first floor, the staff could not say on what vehicle they made well their escape. Police suspect that the miscreants must have gone on a two wheeler. The miscreants spoke in English and the police are of the opinion that an inter-state gang could be behind the incident.
