Second unit of the expansion project of RTPS
Hyderabad, November 20, 2007
The 210MW capacity second unit of the expansion project of the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station (RTPS) at Muddanur in Kadapa district was synchronized on Tuesday.
This comes as boon to the State which is likely to face shortage during Rabi and whose tenders to buy power from outside sources have failed to get response from power traders. The power from the new unit is expected to improve the quality and reliability of the power supply in Rayalaseema region that ranks second in agriculture pump sets. With this, the capacity available at RTPS has touched 840 MW.
