Talks between workers and management fruitful

Vijayanagaram, November 19, 2007

The talks between workers and the management of Aruna Jute Mill over lifting of lockout have fructified. The management has agreed to reopen the mill tomorrow. It may be recalled that the workers went on strike on September 22 protesting against the assignment of additional work. Later, the management declared lockout.

All the four meetings held between the management and the workers unions to resolve the issue failed. During the talks held on Monday, the management agreed to assign additional work to workers only after consulting the unions and provide 10 days earned leave to those who worked for atleast 200 days this year

MLA K Veerabhadra Swamy, Deputy Commissioner of Labor MN Varahalu Reddy and the management representatives RC Jain and Bajaj along with workers union leaders P Prasad, K Sanyasi Rao and K Gangadhar participated in the talks.
