Chief Minister announces Pavala Vaddi scheme for city women
Hyderabad, November 19, 2007
At the main function held at Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of the State Congress, the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi on her 90th birthday on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Indira Gandhi was an inspiration to all and no other leader thought on the lines as she did to serve the poor. He said that the State Government was trying to establish ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ by implementing various schemes for the poor and needy and women. Loans at an interest rate of 25 paise would be extended to women’s SHGs in the cities also. He announced that those DWCRA Groups which completed six weeks can get bank loans.
V Hanumantha Rao, Rajya Sabha member said that she identified herself with the poor. He stated that Sonia Gandhi is also following her footsteps and she promised land reforms and urged the Chief Minister to distribute assigned lands to the poor. The programme was presided over by the Greater Hyderabad District Congress Committee president Danam Nagender. Senior leaders are present on the occasion.
